Levon 2 contains levonorgestrel, a synthetic progestogen that works primarily by preventing or delaying ovulation. It may also cause changes to the cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it more difficult for sperm to reach an egg or for a fertilized egg to implant. Levon 2 is intended for occasional emergency use and is not suitable as a regular contraceptive method. Each pack contains 2 tablets, typically taken 12 hours apart.
